Lanzarote Airport (ACE)
Airport Information

(Arrecife, Lanzarote, Spain)

Although Lanzarote Arrecife Airport (ACE) is a relatively small facility by international standards, it is busy all the same, on account of it being the only air gateway into and out of the popular holiday island of Lanzarote. Located on the western side of the island's capital town Arrecife, this single, two-tiered terminal handles a large number of flights to the EU, mainland Spain and international destinations.

Lanzarote's Arrecife Airport is particularly close to Casa de Guasimeta, Las Playas, Playa del Cable, Playa Honda and Puerto Carmen. Yearly passenger figures are currently approaching six million and set to rise even further, with over 60,000 aircraft movements predicted soon.

Public buses run to Arrecife from outside the terminal building, with several different Circle Lines linking destinations such as Playa Honda, Playa del Reducto and San Borondón. A taxi rank is also situated in front of the terminal building, from where you can catch a taxi to most resorts on the island of Lanzarote.

Close to the airport, popular destinations include the Costa Teguise (north-east), La Santa (north), Playa Blanca (south-west), Parque Nacional de Timanfaya (west), San Bartolomé (north) and Yaiza (west). A variety of Spanish and internationally recognised car hire companies are also represented at Lanzarote Airport.

About Lanzarote Tourism

Lanzarote is a popular holiday destination and the most easterly of Spain's famous Canary Islands, known for its golden beaches, unusual volcanic landscape and busy tourist resorts. Attractions on the island include La Cueva de los Verdes, part of a system of spectacular underground grottoes that were formed by volcanic eruptions. The island's national park is known for its moon-like terrain, being the result of lava flow. Most Lanzarote holidays tend to be centred around the main beach resorts, such as Arrecife, Haria, La Graciosa, San Bartolomé, Teguise and Tinajo, as well as Puerto del Carmen, which serves as the island's nightlife epicentre, offering a busy but controlled environment.

While it is well developed, Lanzarote is quieter than the Balearic Islands and visitors arriving at Lanzarote Airport (ACE) should not expect the wild nightlife that is typical of Ibiza. Arrecife is the island's capital and is close to the airport itself, boasting a large natural harbour and offering convenient ferry trips to the neighbouring island of Fuerteventura.
